President Obama and the Left’s anti-police rhetoric and shameless abuse of racial identity politics wrought deadly consequences in Dallas late Thursday.

“It looked like an execution, honestly,” eyewitness Ismail Dejesus told CNN, after seeing the cold-blooded killing of one of the police victims Thursday night. “He stood over him after he was already down and shot him three or four more times.”

What cannot be fixed is a situation in which people feel empowered to attack police officers.

By the end of the night five police officers would be murdered, seven injured in what was the largest death toll suffered by police since September 11th. Just a few hours before the killing spree began at a protest against police practices, President Obama took time out of his NATO trip in Poland to discuss two tragedies in Minnesota and Baton Rouge where black men were shot and killed by police. Before the investigations have been completed, Mr. Obama implied that racism was the cause of of both deaths.

“When incidents like this occur, there’s a big chunk of our citizenry that feels as if, because of the color of their skin, they are not being treated the same, and that hurts, and that should trouble all of us,” President Obama said at a press conference.

Unaware of the anger brewing on the streets back home, Mr. Obama added: “I would just ask those who question the sincerity or legitimacy of protests and vigils and expressions of outrage who somehow label those expressions of outrage as quote unquote political correctness, I just ask folks to step back and think: what if this happened to someone in your family?”

Hours later, the president was at the microphones again, this empathizing with the families of the fallen officers.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown confirmed Friday morning that the shooters targeted white officers. “The suspect said he was upset about Black Lives Matter,” said Brown, who is black. “He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. The suspect said he was upset at white people. The suspect stated that he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.”

The attack on police came after two black men were killed by white police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and St. Paul, Minnesota. President Obama posted a screed on Facebook Thursday afternoon blaming police. “All Americans should recognize the anger, frustration, and grief that so many Americans are feeling,” Obama wrote. “What’s clear is that these fatal shootings are not isolated incidents. They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.”

The president’s vitriolic rhetoric came at the end of a long day of comments by leaders of the left, many of whom directly blamed police in St. Paul and Baton Rouge. While Obama and the left rush to blame any shooting perpetrated by a white person — or an Afghan Muslim if he happens to target homosexuals — on Republican and right-wing rhetoric, they are urging the country to do anything but blame the toxic anti-law enforcement environment they themselves created for the tragedy that occurred in Dallas.

“There are a lot of rumors and mixed reports come out re: Dallas tonight,” tweeted DeRay Mckesson, a prominent Black Lives Matter activist. “We all have more questions than answers at this point.” It is revealing that such prudence is conspicuously absent whenever the shooter wears a badge.

“Nobody should be shot and killed in Minnesota for a tail light being out of function,” Gov. Mark Dayton said. “Would this have happened if those passengers would have been white? I don’t think it would have.”

The left’s absurd, ideologically motivated rhetoric is the exact reason why five police officers are dead. Whatever legitimate concerns there are about police decisions to use lethal force can be solved within our legal system. They can be fixed through inquiry, review, and reform. But what cannot be fixed is a situation in which people feel empowered to attack police officers.

Unfortunately the events that occurred in Dallas may only be the beginning of a deadly anarchy which could see widespread violence directed against our heroes in blue.

“I don’t think social inequality should be dealt [with] in this manner,” eyewitness Ismael Dejesus told CNN. “The community can make a point for their movement. I’m all for social equality, but this was not the way to do it.”

Black Lives Matter activists have made multiple threats to police officers in the past. It should not come as a shock to liberals that after years of spoon-feeding black America the myth that innocent blacks are shot by cops with impunity on a regular basis, some are starting to shoot back.

When protests erupted in Ferguson, Mo., last year, demonstrators carried a mirrored casket which they held up to police officers’ faces. In November 2015, Blaccoffink Lives Matter protesters in Chicago chanted: “When I say ‘oink, oink,’ you say ‘bang, bang.'” In August, 2015, Black Lives Matter protesters at the Minnesota State Fair chanted “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”

“Today, we live in a time when the white man will be picked off, and there’s nothing he can do about it. His day is up, his time is up,” warned King Noble, a radio host associated with the Black Lives Matter movement. “We will witness more executions and killing of white people and cops than we ever have before.”

This is what happens when blacks are falsely led to believe that they live in an even worse version of 1970s South Africa — or 1950s America. Of course, despite immediately assuming that every black person shot by a cop was the victim of a white racist, Black Lives Matter activists were insisting we not jump to any conclusions about why 11 police officers were shot during a Black Lives Matter protest.

Mainstream media figures that propagate Black Lives Matter’s false racial narrative are responsible for this climate, and those officers’ blood is on their hands.

Democratic lawmakers who wear hoodies and mime the “hands up, don’t shoot gesture” on the House floor are responsible for this climate, and those officers’ blood is on their hands.

Black celebrities who give Black-Panther-inspired Super Bowl performances are responsible for this climate, and those officers’ blood is on their hands.

Well-meaning but woefully ignorant white college students who buy into and spread “white privilege” and “systemic racism” nonsense are responsible for this climate, and those officers’ blood is on their hands.

Ultimately, however, the tragic attack that at occurred in Dallas is on Obama.

Rather than calling for calm after controversial shootings and standing behind law enforcement, Obama has time and time again jumped on the Black Lives Matter bandwagon, implying that police brutality against blacks is a systemic problem. Rather than accept that the police have a training problem, he chooses to believe they have a “hate” problem.

Obama — uniquely positioned to talk about race as the son of a black African man and a white American woman — must choose. He can tell the party to stop playing racial politics, call for calm, and get serious about the widespread problem of ill-prepared, under-trained officers in the field, or he can ignore those problems and continue to claim that these random and rare police shootings are a mark of systemic racism.

If they choose the latter, there will be even more blue — and black — blood on their hands.
