The Congressional Budget Office reports that the total federal deficit for 2016 will be $534 billion, an increase of nearly $100 billion over the previous year. Balancing the budget has been one of the biggest issues for years in Washington, which is one reason it keeps coming up during this 2016 presidential campaign cycle.
