President Donald Trump gave an inspiring inaugural speech Friday in which he spoke directly to the common person about how he is committed to their lives and to improving America after eight years of crippling policies and  governmental intervention. Yet some American schoolkids were not permitted to hear the new president’s words of real hope and change.

Brett Meteyer, a teacher at Explorer Elementary School in Williamston, Michigan, sent out an email to parents informing them he would not be allowing children in his four-grade class to watch or listen to Trump’s inaugural speech.

“Because I am concerned about my students and your children being exposed to language and behavior that is not in concert with the most conservative social and family values, I have decided to show the inauguration of Donald Trump this Friday, but we will not view Mr. Trump’s inauguration speech,” he wrote in his email, as World Net Daily and other outlets reported.

In Williamson County, Tennessee, students at Independence High School were also denied the chance to watch and listen to Trump’s inauguration during class on Friday, a move that Fox News reported earlier in the week. When a mom called to complain, the principal shut her down. “She told me that news happens every day in this country and they won’t be stopping class to watch [this] news,” Suzanne Roberts told Fox News.

Here are just some of the “frightening” concepts that these schoolchildren were “protected from,” directly from President Trump’s inaugural speech — as his family, members of the three branches of government, and millions of Americans of every age and background watched on Friday at noon:

“I will fight for you with every breath in my body — and I will never, ever let you down. America will start winning again, winning like never before.”

“We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams. We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation.”

“We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world — but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.”

“At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. The Bible tells us, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

“We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.”

Children have a right to hear every inaugural address — these are highly teachable and significant historical moments that smart teachers use to help young minds understand democracy. Sadly, when it comes to liberal teachers who cannot keep their own personal politics and bitterness out of the classroom — our country’s young minds are deprived, for no sane reason at all.
