You love being a mom. It’s what you were put on this planet to do. Now if only other moms didn’t hit you with zingers out of left field.

We rounded up actual 12 comments no mother ever wants to hear another mother say. While some people might think they are offering “constructive criticism,” too often it just comes across as cold, hard criticism. (And Lord knows moms already criticize themselves enough.) Here goes.

“Are you really going to feed her that?”

“I don’t want to tell you how to raise your kids, but when ours were little we never let them do that.”

“I heard something about your child I really shouldn’t tell you.”

“You are doing that all wrong!”

“Have you considered giving your son growth hormones?”

“You’re going on the school trip as a chaperone? Your son will be so happy to see you! As a working mom you’re usually not around.”

“Your daughter got into Vanderbilt? That was a safety school for our kid.”

“Too bad your baby has you as a mother.”

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

“What grade did your child get on that test?”

“Our son reached that milestone way ahead of yours.”

(Sent as a series of texts): “Sorry u couldn’t join us at the moms’ party… We had such a good time… I have the best stories to tell u!… Wait, u didn’t get the invite?… I wonder how that happened?”

(Spoken while standing in your living room): “I just hate clutter. Don’t you?”
