Over the weekend, the state of Texas observed a day of prayer for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. President Donald Trump also declared it a National Day of Prayer.

Pastor Ronnie Floyd, president of the official National Day of Prayer, addressed the need for faith in our culture on Monday.

“When the president takes such a bold and courageous stand to call our nation to prayer, all of us should do everything we can to join not only him but millions and millions of Americans and others across the world to call out to God in this very, very important time in our nation,” said the pastor in an interview on Fox News.

Floyd is continuing to serve as senior pastor of Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas.

“As we know, with all that’s going on in the world, it is a very troubling time … This is the time when we need to pray as Americans more for our nation, more for our president and the leaders of our nation more than ever before in our history,” Floyd continued.
