Tim Tebow the baseball player is now officially in the groove.

“I think I’m more comfortable seeing more pitches,” Tebow said in a recent interview with TCPalm. “Playing baseball for longer — I think that helps.”

His career in the minors started off strong: During his first at-bat, he hit a home run.

“I feel more comfortable with my swing, feel more comfortable with my game plan I’m having against pitchers, and then just playing more baseball helps, too,” said Tebow, who is 29.

The New York Mets recently promoted Tebow to the St. Lucie Mets team in Florida. He’s played 23 games with his new team.

The former NFL quarterback had not played a single competitive baseball game since high school until last September, when he signed a minor league baseball contract.

“After working through instructional league, the Arizona Fall League and spring training, Tebow was assigned to the Low-A Fireflies to start the 2017 minor league season,” the St. Lucie Mets announced in a June 25 statement. “Through Saturday night, Tebow played in 63 games with Columbia. He batted .222 with 14 doubles, three home runs, and 22 RBI.”

Tebow is now hitting .320/.407/.520 with St. Lucie. (That’s batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage.) He’s had three home runs and 14 runs batted in.

“This journey isn’t just about the destination. It’s about every single day,” Tebow told TCPalm. “It’s about the camaraderie with my teammates. It’s about enjoying every moment.”

Known for taking a knee on the field at football games, Tebow has maintained his faith in God.

Here are three times the Christian athlete — open about his faith and proud of it — recently discussed his spiritual beliefs:

1.) On Twitter. “May the God of hope fill you w/ joy & peace as you trust in him, so you may overflow w/ hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13,” Tebow tweeted on July 9. He tweeted another Bible verse on July 16. “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Proverbs 19:20.”

“My faith changes the way I act, the way I live.”

2) In a television interview. “It impacts me in how I treat people. How I pursue life, my vantage point. How I interact with people. [I hope] in how I’m a little more patient with people and certain things,” Tebow told Fox New in April. “My faith is something that changes the way I act, the way I live, the way I think, the way I breathe, everything, because it puts things into perspective especially what matters, and that’s something I’m so very grateful for.”

3.) In his book, “Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms,” out in October 2016. “I wanted to write something to those people to encourage them that there’s still a God that loves you, that created you in love, by love, for love, for a purpose, that you matter, and you’re significant,” as Tebow told the Christian Broadcasting Network.
