Although sin is not a popular topic, it is a very real part of our lives and something that needs to be addressed head-on.

Fr. Mike Schmitz, chaplain for Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota–Duluth and director of the Office of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Duluth, took on the difficult subject in his video series. He discussed the different levels of sin — but also acknowledged that all are harmful to our immortal souls.

“Even though mortal sins are more deadly than venial sins, that doesn’t mean venial sins are harmless. Fr. Mike explains the damage venial sins do to us and advises us to not become complacent in our sin, no matter how minor it may seem to us … All sin negatively impacts our relationship with God,” reads the description of the Ascension Presents video.
