It is one of the most difficult topics to deal with when it come to faith – suicide.

Father Mike Schmitz, chaplain for Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota Duluth, discusses the need for hope when dealing with darkness.

“Fr. Mike explains why hope is the best remedy for suicidal thoughts. If you know [people who are] struggling with such thoughts, don’t hesitate to reach out to them with reasons to have hope. If someone you know or love has committed suicide, pray for them and don’t lose hope for their soul. If you struggle with suicidal thoughts, don’t be ashamed to seek help. Fr.
