Once again, the right to life was brought up in Wednesday night’s debate. Once again, the argument was made by Democrat Hillary Clinton that abortion is a woman’s right during the most intimate and difficult time in her life. Once again, the actual procedure was glossed over as something neat, clean, and sanitary.

And once again, there was no acknowledgement by Clinton of the risk and danger to a woman — let alone the baby she is aborting.

“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.”

Following the pro-choice/pro-life portion of the debate, the four-year-old child in Aleppo, Syria, justifiably gets sympathy and outrage for the horrific situation by which he is surrounded.

However, a 34-week-old baby has no rights and is disregarded as an inconvenience, a burden, a risk. A late-term abortion is a barbaric procedure. And Hillary Clinton unashamedly and emphatically supports it and told the world she does.

Human life is either valued — or it is not.

Is there really any room for uncertainty? Is there any room for doubt at a time such as this?

As I watched the debate on Wednesday night, my children were peacefully asleep in the next room. They are blissfully unaware of the politics and policies that weigh heavy on me. I wonder if every generation has felt as I do now, staring into an abyss of a potentially difficult future, carrying the heavy weight of responsibility for their choices and how those choices will affect the lives of their loved ones.

Maybe you are still questioning Donald Trump’s sincerity. Maybe you are unsure of his conviction. Maybe you are still offended by some comments he made. I am not. I am willing to stand by my choice to support Donald Trump, along with any flaws, and confidently believe in his abilities to serve as our president.

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

By completing the poll, you agree to receive emails from LifeZette, occasional offers from our partners and that you've read and agree to our privacy policy and legal statement.

But well beyond that, I am willing to stand firm in my confidence in the Lord my God. I give thanks because the Lord is good and His love endures forever. I trust that He freely gives wisdom if it is asked for. Psalm 16:8 says, “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.”

If you are still wavering, consider your own responsibility to the choice you make when you vote or choose not to vote. Can you explain to your children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren why you didn’t vote? Can you rest in good conscience knowing that you cast a vote for an individual who unabashedly bends and twists the truth and stands for the murder of millions of innocents? If so, please pray for wisdom. And if you find that Donald Trump is too offensive for you, please choose to pray for him — that he will also be granted wisdom and discernment.

Don’t hide from the choice that is before you. Don’t opt out of this election because you find the candidate’s words abrasive. There is far too much at stake.

There have been many Republicans in the last few weeks who have jumped at the chance to withdraw their lukewarm support for Donald Trump. Will they be happy in a Clinton administration and all that it will bring? Will they look back in 20 years and remember this critical turning point in our country — and wish they had looked beyond their own frail egos?

The headlines for the rest of this week and beyond will revolve around Trump’s refusal to accept the outcome of the election (which is not what he said) — or a brief comment he made toward Hillary Clinton that some in the mainstream media or elsewhere might find harsh. However, there are real issues at hand, and they are so much deeper than this. They are the lifeblood, the very backbone of our country and its foundation.

Our future is at stake and it should rest on more than our own sensitivities.

We as a nation have been greatly blessed. Let’s be good stewards of our country and vote for the man who stands up for the innocent, defends our Constitution, and has a record of success. Look past the noise in the media and all the razzle-dazzle that goes with it.

Consider your convictions and do not be shaken.
