Last night at the Democratic National Convention, Bernie Sanders dazzled a crowd of cheering (and crying) supporters as he threw his support behind Hillary Clinton.

Sanders’ swan song was one of the most anticipated moments of the night — and his passionate speech left nothing to be desired from the Sanders contingent in the audience, except maybe a last-ditch effort for the nomination.

“The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.”

But if you were watching very closely, the quick camera shots to Bill Clinton in the audience were perhaps the most surprising moments in Bernie’s speech.

The 42nd president was sitting in his box smiling and waving, but in the seat right next to him was a woman you might recognize from a congressional hearing not too long ago – Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood.

That’s right: At the climax of the first night of the Democratic National Convention, Richards sat at the right hand of Bill Clinton — just as she sits at the right hand of the Clinton campaign.

It’s no secret at this point how truly radical Hillary is when it comes to abortion. During this election cycle, she has supported abortion procedures, even those performed on babies in the third trimester of pregnancy.

“I’ve said … that there can be restrictions in the very end of the third trimester, but they have to take into account the life and health of the mother,” Clinton said in September on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“My husband vetoed a very restrictive legislation on late-term abortions, and he vetoed it at an event in the White House where we invited a lot of women who had faced this very difficult decision, that ought to be made based on their own conscience, their family, their faith, in consultation with doctors. Those stories left a searing impression on me,” she continued in that interview.

On April 3, in an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd, Hillary Clinton denied that an unborn baby — even one at 9 months gestation — has constitutional rights.

“Well, under our laws currently, that is not something that exists. The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights. Now, that doesn’t mean that we don’t do everything we possibly can in the vast majority of instances to, you know, help a mother who is carrying a child and wants to make sure that child will be healthy, to have appropriate medical support,” Clinton said.

To be this far left on the abortion issue for any politician is a risk and is out of touch with the beliefs of the American public at large — even many Democrats.

According to a May 2016 Gallup Poll, only 29 percent of Americans agree that abortion should be legal under any circumstance, which is essentially what Clinton is proposing.

Cecile Richards is set to speak Tuesday night at the DNC, and will remain in the inner circle of the Clinton campaign — despite a year of accusations involving the sale of baby parts by her organization.
