Walt and Annie Manis grew up together, fell in love, and got married — but like so many couples, they struggled with infertility.

The Austin, Texas, couple had always been profoundly committed to their faith in God and His plan for their life. They had always embraced their Christian values and faith.

But the disappointment of consistently being unable to conceive a child tested their faith in ways they never imagined, especially because of a promise from God.

The video in the link below tells their beautiful story of their deep faith and trust in God’s plan.

It will have viewers hanging on the couple’s every word and maybe grabbing a tissue or two.

When Walt Manis was young, he was in deep prayer and he saw a child — his daughter — spinning around in a field. With brown eyes and olive skin, the little girl smiled at him. Her name was Chloe.

Years later when he and his bride-to-be began dating, they were talking about the future and she mentioned that she always wanted to be a mother. She told Walt that she had always wanted to name her daughter Chloe.

The two chalked it up to a coincidence, but ultimately they recognized the beauty of God’s amazing plan for our lives and love for each one of us.

After years of trying, Annie Manis brought up adoption to her unenthusiastic husband. But despite his misgivings about the process, they decided to move forward with it.

Finally they got word about a mother who chose them to adopt her little girl once the child was born. When they met her, the three talked for hours and finally came to the topic of a name.

And the birth-mother said that since she became pregnant — before she even knew the baby was a girl — she had been calling the baby Chloe.
