Kanye West told shoppers at a Georgetown Apple store that he gave Donald Trump an updated Make America Great Again hat during his recent White House visit.

During an impromptu speech at the store, West said he gave the president a hat that said, “Make America Great” — dropping the “Again” from Trump’s signature campaign slogan.

West said it was to reflect that things have not always been “great” for black Americans.

“It hurts us as people, specifically black people, the idea, because we say, was America ever great for us? So we made a updated hat that said, ‘Make America Great,’ and Trump wore the hat, so he is open to adjusting and listening,” the rapper reportedly said about the president.

The rapper even showed customers of the store pictures of Trump wearing the updated hat.

West wore a Make America Great Again hat during his Thursday visit with the president.

He said some people had told him not to wear the hat, but he felt a special connection to it.

“You know, they tried to scare me to not wear this hat — my own friends,” West said. “But this hat, it gives me — it gives me power, in a way. You know, my dad and my mom separated, so I didn’t have a lot of male energy in my home. And also, I’m married to a family that, you know — not a lot of male energy going on.”

He continued, “It’s beautiful, though, but there’s times where, you know, there’s something about … You know, I love Hillary [Clinton]. I love everyone, right? But the campaign ‘I’m with her’ just didn’t make me feel, as a guy, that didn’t get to my dad all the time — like a guy that could play catch with his son.”

He concluded, “It was something about when I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman. You [Donald Trump] made a Superman. That was my — that’s my favorite superhero. And you made a Superman cape.”

It was West’s second time calling the hat his “Superman cape.” During a recent appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” West wore the hat and revealed that he was told to take it off before going in front of the cameras. West refused to listen and said the hat was his “Superman cape” and no one would bully him into not wearing it.

West’s updated hat should prove to leftists that his meeting with the president was a major success. By not disagreeing and fighting against every single thing the president does, as do so many other A-list stars, West is able to have a conversation with Trump and work with the man. The two are able to speak, and they can provide different points of view to each other. More conversations like that are needed in these culturally divided times.
